Dinner Thu 20 October

Symposium Fri 21 October

Where: The Moama Bowling Club

Major Sponsor: Moama Bowling Club

Background: Prior to the bridge funding announcement, the Bridge Arts Project and C4EM developed a concept that would highlight and communicate the second river crossing opportunity, both in construction and with an iconic bridge.

Update: Due to some developing conflict dates of two key note speakers we thought it best to shift the date to next available. This ensures that we have the best event which delivers the most contemporary insights possible.

Event Scope

To explore the economic, business, community, social and other benefits that the bridge will offer both throughout its design and planning stages, through procurement and construction, and into the tertiary stages of long term economic impacts and community outcomes.

Key note speakers from across industry, academia and government will offer a lens through which we can understand the projects development, how it will roll out, and what outcomes are possible.

Who Should Come

The event expects to attract over two hundred delegates and will include local businesses and community, government representatives, architectural designers and the construction industry, engineering academics and students, other economic and community development decision makers and everyone who has an interest in the project.

The Committee for Echuca Moama’s Homeless Reference Group selected Monash University as the winning consultant to conduct a specific data research project that is targeted at understanding the depth and impact of homelessness within Echuca Moama.

The project funded by the Moama Bowling Club through the NSW Club Grants monies will be the final and pivotal piece of work by the Reference Group that should allow homelessness service providers and other social services to access an invaluable localized data set that will both improve decision making and allow greater access to funding ultimately.

The project includes three main steps; firstly Monash will perform interviews and focus groups with key homelessness stakeholders, secondly they will gather and develop a dataset that is both reflective of the local environment and make comparisons to other regions across Australia, and lastly they will create a final report and perform a public information session to inform the community of its findings.

The commencement date is yet to be determined however the project is expected to be finalized by the end of this year. C4EM encourages all stakeholders who are linked with homelessness and who wish to be considered for participation in this study.

Connecting Kangan with Industry

In an effort to help bridge the gap between education and industry, C4EM invited Kangan TAFE's new CEO Trevor Schwenke to visit one of our member's sites. Foodmach, one of Echuca Moama's leading manufacturing and tech companies, welcomed the opportunity introducing the education organisation to current and future staff's current and future training needs.

We will again be hosting Mr. Schwenke on the afternoon of the 15th August and invite EOI's from member organisations to participate. Please send through an email with subject line: TAFE Site Visit to [email protected] and we will do our best to fit you in. Otherwise we will make another time for a 3rd visit to occur.
